Hot tub
The covered hot tub seats six and overlooks the valley.
Are outdoor fires, fire pits, or fireworks allowed?
Fire safety
No. Trail Magic Chalet does not have a fire pit. Because the property is immediately adjacent to the Monongahela National Forest, open fires, fireworks, and similar fire hazards are strictly prohibited throughout the development. Violations are subject to strict fines. Review the Monongahela National Forest maps and guides before exploring the area.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking
Trail Magic Chalet is a non-smoking house. Smoking is permitted only outdoors. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly and do not litter them.
How fast is the internet?
Internet
Whole-house WiFi provides about 800 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload speeds.
Is EV charging available at the chalet?
EV charging
Trail Magic Chalet does not have an EV charger onsite. There is only a 110V outlet in the mudroom, about 20 feet from the driveway. Bringing a long extension cord allows for slow charging if needed. Otherwise, public chargers are available nearby, including at Canaan Valley State Park.

Dogs are welcome for a $65 fee plus tax per dog. An optional large crate, dog bowls, dog towels, and treats are provided. Dogs are the only pets allowed.
Arrival & Winter
Where is Trail Magic Chalet?
Location
Trail Magic Chalet is at 57 Mountain Laurel Lane in Davis, West Virginia. It is a convenient home base for Timberline Mountain, Canaan Valley Resort, Blackwater Falls State Park, Dolly Sods, Davis, and Thomas.
How much parking is available, and how do guests enter the neighborhood?
Parking & access
The driveway accommodates two large or three small vehicles. Marked overflow parking is outside the neighborhood gate. The neighborhood is gated, and MountainTop Realty provides the gate code with check-in information. Review the detailed parking map and neighborhood access rules before arrival.
What vehicle and traction equipment do I need for winter access?
Winter access
Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required in winter conditions. All-season tires alone are insufficient; winter tires and chains are highly advised because snow and ice can make the mountain roads hazardous.
Privacy
Are there cameras or listening devices at the chalet?
Exterior cameras
Your privacy is a top priority for us. There are two exterior cameras: one by the front door facing the parking space for security, and one on the grill deck facing the valley to help us keep track of weather conditions. There are no cameras or listening devices inside the house, near the hot tub, or any other private guest areas.
Likewise, you can read Airbnb's camera and recording-device policy and the surveillance-device guidance on Vrbo's Trust & Safety page. Both platforms require exterior cameras to be disclosed in the listing and prohibit cameras that monitor the home's interior.
Are there any smart devices around the house?
Temperature & humidity
The small white Govee devices you may see hanging around the house are only temperature and humidity sensors. Mountain weather is often harsh, especially in the winter. Power outages and leaks can occur. These devices are for the monitoring and the protection of the house only. They do not record sound or images, detect people, or track guest activity.
Do you monitor internet usage?
Internet privacy
We do not monitor your internet usage. We do use family-friendly internet filters, with reasonable protections similar to those you might use at home. We have children, too, and want families to feel comfortable and safe in our home. Filters cannot guarantee online safety or block every unsuitable site. We respectfully encourage parents and caregivers to guide and supervise children's internet use.
How do you protect my privacy on this website?
Website privacy
Your privacy matters to our family online, too. We use website analytics to understand which pages are helpful, not to identify you. Read our website privacy page for details about analytics, cookies, and your browser privacy choices.
