Understanding visits, not tracking reservations

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand visitor journeys in aggregate: which pages are useful, how people find the chalet through reviewed campaigns, how they explore photos and video, and which booking-provider links they click. A click to MountainTop Realty, Airbnb, or Vrbo shows interest, not a confirmed reservation. This website does not collect reservation or payment details through personal-data forms.

Learning what helps you plan a stay

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see the bigger picture: which pages people find helpful, how they hear about the chalet, which photos and videos they explore, and which booking links they choose. That helps us make this website more useful. We are interested in how the website works for visitors, not who those visitors are.

The events we send describe things like a page viewed, a photo opened, or a booking link clicked. They do not include your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, or anything you type into a form. We also leave out the full addresses of sites you came from or links you follow, and any extra details attached to a page address. We use broad labels instead, such as “Instagram” or “gallery.” The cookies and services described below can still process technical identifiers.

Clicking a link to MountainTop Realty, Airbnb, or Vrbo tells us that someone wanted to learn more; it does not tell us that they booked. This website has no forms that collect reservation or payment details. Any information you share while booking goes to the provider you choose.

Cookies and browser storage

When enabled, GA4 loads Google's analytics tag and can use analytics cookies to recognize visits and sessions. Google processes analytics data under its own policies. We have intentionally disabled advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and Google signals in our analytics configuration; analytics storage remains enabled for eligible visits.

Our code stores approved first-touch traffic and campaign labels in your tab's session storage so they can accompany visits to other pages in that tab. This is tab-scoped attribution, not a record of your reservation. Your color-theme preference is stored separately in local storage so the site can remember it.

Your browser privacy choices

Our Google Analytics loader respects Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT). When your browser sends either supported opt-out signal, our code does not load GA4, send its events, or store analytics attribution. You can also use your browser's controls to block cookies or clear browser storage. These choices do not stop the request processing needed to deliver the website or control the policies of sites you visit from our links. Your site experience is not affected by these choices.

Hosting and other services

The website is hosted on Microsoft Azure and delivered through Cloudflare. Hosting and delivery services process normal web requests, which can include IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and security or diagnostic information. The site also includes Cloudflare Web Analytics for site performance and usage measurement. The GPC/DNT behavior described above applies to our GA4 loader and does not constitute a promise that all third-party providers stop processing requests.

Our custom analytics limits do not make every service's processing anonymous. Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare, and other providers have their own processing and storage practices. See Google's privacy policy, Microsoft's privacy statement, and Cloudflare's privacy policy for their information.

When you leave this website

Booking, maps, weather, social, and local-business links take you to other services. Embedded third-party content, such as maps, may also make requests to its provider. Those services apply their own privacy policies, including when you contact them or enter booking or payment information. Review the destination's policy before sharing personal information.
